Kern 511

Kern Council of Governments (COG) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Kern Region and the Regional Transportation Planning Agency (RTPA) as designated by the State of California. Already served by kern511.org, a public traveler information website and IVR solution developed by IBI Group, Kern COG wanted to expand the service with more extensive, real-time information on road conditions, traffic incidents and critical emergency alerts for events such as California’s seasonal wildfires.

Travel-IQ’s freemium Event Reporting SaaS solution was a perfect fit for Kern COG. Implemented quickly and seamlessly post-subscription, it utilizes Amazon Web Services (AWS) innovative cloud solutions to provide a secure, flexible service offering that offers automation and scaling of infrastructure to meet evolving user demands. Kern511.org went live with the addition of Travel-IQ’s Event Reporting on August 18, 2020.
